Lasermarking - A unique way of marking
Laser marking uses the power of the laser beam to mark by burning or etch by vaporising the material placed within a specific plane in its path.
The machines used at Lasermark Services generate a light beam with a spot size as small as 0.06mm up to 0.15mm. A computer controls the position of this beam via precision galvanometers attacked to pivoting mirrors and a ‘Q’ switch that turns the light on and off.
The laser marking machines at Lasermark Services utilise a ndyag crystal as its lasing medium, which emits an infrared light beam, found to be the best for marking and engraving metals. The generated light beam has the power of a 60W light bulb concentrated down to a spot 0.07 mm diameter. This beam of light is moved rapidly across the surfaces to be marked by computer controlled mirrors.
The beauty of laser marking is that apart from infrared beam of light there is no physical contact so product can be very simply be placed in position with minimal fixturing.
Product can be placed quickly and accurately into the marking field.
A computer directs the position of the laser beam via precision controlled mirrors thus providing a mark noted for its repeatability and accuracy.
Complex designs and scripts may be placed on a variety of materials.
A quality mark can be placed in many difficult to reach areas the only requirement is line of sight.
Serial numbers, measuring scales and logos are only a few of the virtues of this marking system. We provide a unique marking service utilising the virtues of laser marking in batch quantities of 1 or 2 to several thousand. Turn round is commensurate with quantity and complexity but in many cases it is 1 – 3 days. For furtehr details, please visit our website or call on 0114 2531000.
